Ashley Cain, known for his time on reality shows like Ex on the Beach and The Challenge, recently revealed on social media that his 2-month old daughter is suffering from a rare form of leukemia, PEOPLE reports. The social media personality welcomed his daughter, named Azaylia Diamond, with his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee last August. Since then, the star has been vocal about how much he’s been loving being a father. But he admits he received one of the most heartbreaking pieces of news this Friday.
“I found out my beautiful daughter Azaylia Diamond Cain got diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of leukaemia which has come with many complications,” Ashley wrote on Instagram. He accompanied the post with a video of himself talking to his baby girl, who appeared to be laying in a crib at the hospital. He described the news as the "the single most upsetting, terrifying and heartbreaking experience I have ever been through." He asked his over 470,000 followers to send prayers and positive thoughts to his daughter as she battles her diagnosis.
Ashley ended his post on a positive note, however, saying that he and his girlfriend remain hopeful. “Mummy and Daddy love you princess,” he wrote, describing his newborn daughter as a “champ.” “You CAN and WILL beat this,” he added.
Ashley originally announced his daughter’s arrival on August 11th several days after her birth with a sweet post to Instagram. He said that he could barely find the words to describe how thrilled he was to become a first-time father. “You’ve changed my life,” he wrote at the end of the emotional post. It was accompanied by a photo of the father resting his hand on his daughter’s head as well as a video showing the newborn baby girl sleeping while he caressed her tiny face.
Though the new father has shared many images of his baby girl, he’s more private about his relationship with Safiyya, a registered nurse. On August 15th, only a few days after their daughter’s birth, he wished his girlfriend a happy birthday over Instagram, though he declined to tag her social media accounts. “Happy Birthday Babe,” he captioned the touching post followed by a series of emojis. “Daddy & Daughter Love You.” He added, “Ps who’d have thought you’d just popped this little one out, you’re looking,” and included a fire emoji after the sweet compliment. The post was accompanied by three photos of the little family surrounded by pink balloons.
Safiyya has not commented on her daughter’s diagnosis on her Instagram page. Her last post was from September 27th in which she wishes Ashley a happy 30th birthday. She called Ashley an “incredible” father in the sweet caption.
