This YouTuber mom's critical comments about her newborn daughter are not sitting well with fans on social media.
Unless you have experienced the moment when you meet your child for the first time, it is difficult to explain exactly how magical it feels. The moment when you first look into your newborn's face and you see that perfect mix of yourself and your partner. The last thing you'll be thinking about at that moment is your baby's imperfections. If there are any, you surely won't be clocking them then and there.
Not if you're YouTuber mom Bianca Prince, though. Prince recently gave birth to Nova Grace, her first daughter, and third child overall. Being of YouTube fame, her and her husband Damien posted the moment they met Nova for the first time on their YouTube channel. Probably a decision they are currently regretting after the backlash they have received for some of its content.
As Bianca looks into Nova's eyes for the first time, she asks the nurse when babies get their eye color. The nurse replies that if babies have dark eyes, like Nova's, then chances are they'll stay that way. Bianca then says "I thought you were going to have pretty eyes." Not the greatest thing to say, and one of the first things Nova will have ever heard.
But wait, there's more. Bianca then asks whether Nova's skin will be the same color as DJ's (her older brother) or darker. It's at that point the nurse feels the need to remind Bianca that her daughter is beautiful. Following backlash from fans, Bianca and Damien have since posted an apology video. However, some of the comments made in the video, which you can check out above, have only made things worse.
Damien's 'apology' sounded more like an accusation, claiming fans were saying things about him and his wife that simply weren't true. Meanwhile, Bianca gave examples of people in her family with dark eyes who were never told their eyes were pretty, while she has received many compliments for her green eyes. We just hope that by the time Nova is old enough to use the internet, there is no trace of the videos above.
