Tom Brady, New England Patriots’ star quarterback, wears the title of daddy with great pride. Like most dads, he will not stand for any type of attack on his family, especially his children. Shockingly, during a recent radio interview with WWEI’s host Alex Reimer, the host called Brady’s FIVE YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER Vivian an “annoying little pissant.”
What the actual heck?! For a professional in the media to directly insult a child who is barely even school-aged in appalling and wrong. Appropriately, Brady handled the fiasco with nothing but class. He immediately hung up on the offending party and issued the most restrained and delicate statement imaginable.
Tom stated, "Well, I think that—I've tried to come on this show for many years and showed you guys a lot of respect. I've always tried to come on and do a good job for you guys. It's very disappointing when you hear that, certainly." Furthermore, the quarterback said, "My daughter, or any child, they certainly [doesn’t] deserve that."
It is sad that we live in a day and age where both celebrities and average Joes’ families are fair game for fodder and scrutiny without so much as a second thought. One would expect Brady to push for the host to be fired, but he actually publicly stated that he does not want that at all. When asked, he said…
"I just thought it was not very appropriate. ... Look, I think we all go through our life and sometimes we say things we shouldn't say or make mistakes, and that happens. I can express it and you move on… I certainly hope the guy is NOT fired.” Unfazed, Brady will continue radio interviews and public appearances as usual. Seriously, what a class act. I would definitely not be so gracious. Also, the host has not yet even apologized.
