Just a month after actress Troian Bellisario, 34, finally confirmed the name of her first baby with husband Patrick J. Adams, 38, she offered the origins of her daughter's name up to Teen Vogue exclusively.

What's in a name anyway? Some parents name their baby purely for the love of the sound of the name, the love of the memory of a person or to honor someone and then there's the meaning behind the name. Bellisario and Adams chose the latter when it came to choosing their bundle of joy's handle.

The couple happened to be traveling in Greece and were looking into Greek mythology which interested both of them and they both decided that if their baby was a son maybe they should name him a name to honor the actual sun such as Helios.

"Then we thought that Helios had a sister named Eos, and we didn’t love Eos," Bellisario told Teen Vogue. "But then we learned in Roman mythology that Eos was Aurora, which is the goddess of the dawn. And we thought it would be nice that she would be our dawning of a new day in our life." The actress said that she and Adams didn't fall in love with Aurora right away. It took some time for the name to grow on them. The thought that the three-syllable name was a bit bulky and crowded-sounding at first. So they went back to other names on their list and consulted around but stubborn Aurora just wouldn't go away and eventually they both decided that there was only name for their daughter and Aurora was it, three syllables and all.
