Celebrities are known for picking out the most bizarre names for their children. We’re not sure what inspired these celeb parents to select the most outlandish monikers but we love that they do. Some of the names on this list are just too weird to be true.

From “word names” to “occupational names”, nothing is off-limits when it comes to the children of the rich and famous. Some celebs find inspiration from pop culture while others go in a direction all their own.

10 Pilot Inspektor

Jason Lee chose a very unconventional name for his first son with his ex-wife, Beth Riesgraf. The duo named him Pilot Inspektor. Despite the fact that this one is a bit off-the-wall, it does hit one trend and that is occupational names. More and more parents are choosing to name their kid after some sort of job title.

We can’t really find a way to explain the creative spelling of his middle name, though. Lee seems to have a penchant for choosing unique names for his kids. His other children are named Sonny, Casper, and Alberta. You don’t hear those every day.

9 Zuma Nesta Rock

Rockers Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale named their son Zuma Nesta Rock. This may sound like a random grouping of names but according to People Magazine, the exes were inspired by Zuma beach in California. Nesta was Bob Marley’s given name and of course, Rock was more than likely taken from No Doubt’s album, Rock Steady.

It appears that their musical backgrounds played a big part in naming their third son. When you know what inspired them, the name seems a little bit less wacky. They have two other sons with equally interesting first names, Kingston and Apollo.

8 Audio Science

Shannyn Sossamon must have thumbed through a dictionary when she settled on her son’s name because it’s basically two common words strung together. The actress named her son Audio Science. This may sound like a strange moniker but “word names” are actually popular these days.

According to Names.org, six children have been given the name Audio since 1880 and 5 people have been named Science. We’re guessing that Sossamon’s son is the only child named Audio Science. Either way, it’s a bold choice and yet another example of a celebrity picking a distinctive name for their kid.

7 Bandit Lee

We couldn’t have a list of celeb baby names and included this next one. The lead singer of the band My Chemical Romance, Gerard Way, and his wife named their daughter Bandit Lee. This one checks a few boxes as it’s another occupational name and is also gender-neutral, both of which are totally on-trend.

It’s typically a name used for boys but we applaud Gerard for claiming it for his little girl. This one is uncommon so we predict that his daughter will be the only child named Bandit in her preschool class. Her middle name, Lee, is a bit more common.

6 Harley Quinn

Fans of Kevin Smith will love this next entry. The actor and his wife named their daughter Harley Quinn, after the character from the Batman franchise. This name was thrust into the spotlight when she was portrayed by Margot Robbie in the 2016 film, Suicide Squad.

Although, Harley Quinn wasn’t so mainstream when Smith chose this one for his little girl in 1999. Harley is an English name that means the long field. This is another unisex name that would also work for a boy. We think that this moniker is pretty tame compared to the other strange celeb baby names on this list.

5 Petal Blossom Rainbow

Celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver and his wife, Jools, must have been inspired by the cartoon My Little Pony when they named their daughter Petal Blossom Rainbow. This has got to be the most cheerful name in existence. Once again, we're seeing the trend of “word names” in action, which are so popular with millennial parents.

The couple could win some sort of award for selecting the most creative names for their children. Their other kids are named Poppy Honey Rosie, River Rocket Blue, Buddy Bear Maurice, and Daisy Boo Pamela. They certainly aren’t shy about picking out wacky monikers and we love it.

4 Moxie Crimefighter

Leave it to Penn Jillette, one half of the comedy duo, Penn & Teller, to give his daughter a quirky name. The magician and his wife named their little girl Moxie Crimefighter. This moniker has so much spunk that it almost crosses over from being weird to sublime.

Moxie is an English slang name that means aggressive energy. Once you combine it with Crimefighter, you have one tough name for such a cute little girl. We actually hope that someone else will bestow it upon their daughter. Although, it more than likely won’t take over the charts any time soon.

3 Bronx Mowgli

Ashlee Simpson Ross and her ex-husband, Pete Wentz, gave their son quite an unusual name. They named him Bronx Mowgli. You may recognize his middle name from the main character in Disney’s cartoon, The Jungle Book.

According to People Magazine, Wentz revealed to Ryan Seacrest that he and Simpson once bonded over the movie. How cute is that? No word on how they settled on Bronx as a first name but it hits the current trend of parents naming their kid after a city. Either way, it’s a cool moniker and we love the charming story behind why they went for Mowgli.

2 Ace Knute

While we’re on the subject of the Simpson family, Ashlee’s nephew, Ace Knute just had to be included in the list. Jessica Simpson is not only one of our favorite celeb moms but she and her husband, Eric Johnson also love picking out odd names for their children.

Ace is a Latin name that means unity. We like that it’s a three-letter name, which is really trendy these days. The couple gave their daughters distinctive names as well. The girls are named Maxwell Drew and Birdie Mae. How adorable is Maxwell for a little girl? It’s a super cute, gender-neutral moniker.

1 Bluebell Madonna

Geri Halliwell may be known for being one of the Spice Girls but she found her way onto this list because of the name she chose for her daughter. The former singer named her little girl Bluebell Madonna. Talk about a wacky name!

Although, we have to admit that floral names are very popular. Bluebell is a less common flower, though. We think that this is a very sweet-sounding moniker. We can’t help but wonder if Madonna was a religious choice or if Halliwell named her daughter after the singer, Madonna? We’re going to go with the latter.
