In Green Bay, Wisconsin, hospital staff are dressing up preemies for Halloween. While the gesture may seem a bit extra, many parents needed a break from seeing their babies in an incubator. Their Halloween began when their kids were born early and their lives were threatened, so this spooky season brings no more fear than they already have. A cute costume may be just what they needed to cheer up.

At the Aurora Baycare Medical Center, the NICU staff decided to dress up the babies for Halloween. The holiday is coming up quick, and many of these parents will not be able to celebrate and put cute costumes on their babies. To fill that gap, the staff decided to brighten everyone’s day with cute costumes.

The preemies can be seen in a variety of outfits for the spooky season. There were many food-related costumes: a cupcake, a burrito (complete with sauce packets), a candy corn, popcorn, and quite a few pumpkins. Others include characters such as Minnie Mouse, Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, and Robin. The rest were put in cute animal costumes: a cow, a butterfly, and a peacock.

The photos received a lot of love on their Facebook page—gaining over 1,400 shares. To increase the visibility of their post, the hospital is holding a costume contest. The photo that gets the most “likes” or “loves” will win a prize. They will also give prizes to the two runners-up. However, with photos this cute, there can’t be a loser in this contest. We all won by seeing some cute content on our feeds.

The hospital highlighted the importance of doing things like this for parents of preemies. Every day, parents can’t wait to take their babies home, and whenever they visit them in the hospital, they just see them inside machines with tubes attached to them. It’s not a pretty sight for any parent to see, especially since they constantly worry for the health of their babies. When they walk in and see their kids in cute outfits, it relieves some of the stress they’ve been feeling, and they can focus on the brighter side of things for once. After all, who wouldn’t love to see a baby version of Clark Kent?
