Dancing With The Stars pro Witney Carson is doing her best to avoid a C-section when it is time to give birth to her baby boy. Carson is expecting her first child with her husband, Carson McAllister, in January 2021.

Caron married McAllister, her high school sweetheart, in 2016 in Salt Lake City where several DWTS pros were among some of her bridesmaids. Lindsay Arnold, another DWTS dancer, served as Carson's maid of honor. Over four and a half years later, the couple are now expecting their first child.

According to PEOPLE, Carson revealed some of the details of her birth plan to Instagram followers on Monday. The 27-year-old revealed in several Instagram Stories that she plans to induce labor at 39 weeks after attending a doctor's appointment asking about the procedure. Carson, who is expecting a baby boy in January, noted that "The baby is head-down, which definitely puts things into perspective" and admitted that she is both excited and terrified all at once.

While she plans to get induced, she knows things may change and is just trying to "go with the flow". The dancer decided to go into more detail about her birth plan after receiving several messages about why she decided to get induced, according to Pop Culture. Her reasoning behind getting induced is to avoid a C-section. "[My husband] Carson was born three weeks early and at nine pounds, so he was a really big boy and I just don't want the risk of having a C-section," she admitted. "I asked my doctor about that and he said the best way is to be induced."

She acknowledged that it is still too early as she has weeks before his arrival, but is monitoring how big he is getting as the weeks go by. She is hoping for more clarity at her 36-week ultrasound so she can actually see just how big he will be.

Carson announced her pregnancy in July via Instagram with a photo of her and McAllister hugging, revealing their ultrasound and a positive pregnancy test. "Baby McAllister coming Jan 2021!!!!! We can’t even contain our excitement and joy right," she caption the series of photos at the time.

In August, the DWTS pro dancer unveiled the gender of her child in a sweet IGTV video that showed her friends and family helping out with the gender reveal. They opened their boxes only to see blue powder fly everywhere, revealing that the couple is having a boy. Over the weekend, Carson threw a baby shower in her home state of Utah. Her family figured out a safe way to have the shower during a pandemic so Carson could still celebrate her pregnancy.
