X-Factor's Jake Quickenden and his girlfriend Sophie Church have announced they are expecting their first child together. They are super excited, especially Jake who will be a first-time father.

Quickenden and Church have been dating since 2018. Sophie Church is currently a mother to 6-year-old Freddie, whom she had from a previous relationship. Jake is a great influence on Freddie's life and Sophie loves seeing them together. Jake has admitted that Freddie's father is a great dad, and in no way does he try to take his place.

Jake is beyond happy that he is a soon-to-be dad. In an exclusive interview with Hello! Magazine, he said,

"I'm so excited to be a dad. It's something I've always wanted to do and I feel completely ready for it."

Sophie believes Jake will be a great father, because she sees that he is "hands-on" with her son. Jake revealed that being around Freddie has prepared him for his future role as a father. He stated, "Freddie is a little legend. He's like my best mate. I met him when he was four, but I don't say that I'm his dad because I'm not and he's already got a really great dad. He's got me used to being around kids and it will be so nice to have my own child, too."

Jake said that his father and step-father were great role models for him, and he hopes he will be the same or even better for his baby. We can see from the relationship he has with Freddie that he had a great example of what a father (or even step-father) should be.

According to his Instagram post, the baby will be arriving in 2021. As of now, Sophie says the baby is healthy. This is exciting news for the pair who suffered a miscarriage last year. The loss took a toll on Sophie, and a part of her still worries that something might go wrong this time as well.

Jake and Sophie tried for this child for a year and a half, and as we can see, they've succeeded. Jake revealed that Sophie felt pressured to have another child. He helped comfort her by reminding her that if it's meant to be it will be. We wish them the best!
