Rapper Yung Miami has officially given birth to a healthy baby girl after a difficult pregnancy that included a drive-by shooting.

The 25-year old celebrity, who is one half of the rap duo City Girls alongside JT, announced the birth of her second child via Instagram on October 18th. She confirmed her new arrival is named Summer Miami. Yung is also a mother to 6-year old son Jai Jr., who she shares with her ex Jai Wiggins.

“So happy & blessed,” Yung captioned the social media post, which includes a photo of the new baby sleeping with her dad, rapper Southside, protectively at her side. This is also not the first child for Southside, who is a dad to five other kids, including sons Karmello, Legend, and TJ, and daughter Karlye and Haylee. A second photo showed the baby dressed in a pink tutu, fairy wings, and a custom diaper with her name written on it.

Yung Miami first announced her pregnancy during a documentary about her rap group, City Girls, earlier this year. The mom has revealed she initially kept her happy news a secret, as the other half of her duo, JT, was in jail for credit card fraud.

She later opened up about her decision in-depth on Instagram. “I’ve been going back and forth to share this moment with my fans. But on MY TERMS! I want this journey to be nothing but positive going forward and I wanted to share this with y’all,” Yung wrote.

However, Yung’s pregnancy has been nothing short of dramatic. Back in August, the celebrity was involved in a drive-by shooting in which she was the target. Though the pregnant rapper was shot at 14 times in total, none of the bullets hit her. According to TMZ, Yung had been leaving Circle House studios in Miami when the shooting occurred. She was in the middle of getting into her red Mercedes G-Wagon when someone opened fire from a passing car.

It remains unclear who shot at the rapper or why. But prior to the shooting, rapper Kodak Black made threatening comments in a freestyle rap towards that pregnant star. Evidently, there was bad blood between the two after Miami turned down Kodak’s proposal and subsequently became pregnant with Southside’s child.

"I bought Yung Miami a ring, she wanted 808 baby,” Kodak rapped. “When I see her I'ma hit […] [her] in her stomach. The way I keep my [stuff] too real, they say I'm [messing] up my money." 808 is a reference to Southside, who is a producer for 808 Mafia.
